Leadership STAFF

Our talented and tenacious team is dedicated supporting the work of IOM through partnerships with the US private sector.

Luca Dall’Oglio has served as CEO of USA for IOM since 2012. His long career supporting IOM’s global humanitarian work has made him passionate about the need for cross-sector partnerships to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Before leading USA for IOM, Luca served as Special Envoy of the Director General of IOM and Chief of Mission for Haiti. He has also acted as Permanent Observer for the IOM to the United Nations in New York.

Maria G.

Head of Operations

Maria Moreno is deeply committed to working with the US private sector to expand their impact in humanitarian responses to migration challenges. Her strategic vision and fundraising acumen have been critical in developing USA for IOM into IOM’s trusted non-profit partner in the US.

Maria is a Certified Fund-Raising Executive, and a member of the US and Global Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) with a background in corporate law.

Carolina Peña

Project Development Assistant

Carolina helps develop and implement USA for IOM’s private sector and philanthropy engagement strategy. She is the Point of Contact with IOM field missions and UN specialized agencies in Latin America and the Caribbean, liaising with project implementors and donors. She recently coordinated the implementation of a regional program on the socio-economic integration of Venezuelan migrants in Colombia and Peru, and hurricane recovery assistance in the Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago.

Carolina is most inspired by opportunities to assist communities facing environmental degradation due to climate change.

Sarah Jamesen

Research & Private Sector Liaison Assistant

Sarah is dedicated to bridging sectoral gaps to strengthen IOM operations. She helps develop USA for IOM’s strategic vision for private sector engagement; supports current projects and prospective programming by coordinating with diverse partners ranging from corporations to diaspora communities, and directs research and information sharing with current and potential academic partners.

Before joining IOM, Sarah worked with victims of trafficking in Southeast Asia and Arabic-speaking refugees in the US.

Lawrence Book McKnight

Private Sector & Board Liaison

Joining the team in April 2020, Lawrence supports our Board of Directors in maintaining board governance, designing fundraising strategies, assisting in the expansion of our donor networks, organizing fundraising and awareness raising events, and establishing relationships with the private sector.

Most recently, Lawrence assisted in the coordination of the three-day World Migration & Displacement Symposium, an awareness raising event about disinformation and how private sector involvement is key in combatting this critical issue.

Allyson Block

Operations Assistant

Allyson supports the mobilization of critical resources from the private sector through new prospect research, project and strategy development, and individual donor stewardship. She is the point of contact for Major Gift Giving and specializes in grant writing.

Alejandra Ospina
