REBUILDING LIVES OF VOLCANO AFFECTED PERSONS IN SAINT VINCENT

On April 9, 2021, La Soufriere Volcano erupted, displacing 20,000 persons on the north- east of Saint Vincent, and island state in the South-east of the Caribbean. IOM and partners responded and have been on the ground assisting with emergency, recovery and rebuilding efforts.

One of the ongoing activities which requires additional finding is the retrofit of a historic building into a safe, welcoming, and eco-friendly care home for 40 displaced elderly persons, many who are also having a disability. The building will be resistant against hurricanes and volcanic eruptions.
